Our Mission

We're a Hong Kong social enterprise on a simple mission: to help more people and more organisations to grow fresh organic food, wherever they are. In a city where land is scarce, we've made it our job to find the space that's being overlooked and put it to work. We design and manage urban farms for buildings and corporates, running an HKORC-certified organic farm in Kam Tin, and delivering education programmes for schools, communities, and corporate ESG.

Our Story

Our founders, Karen and Agnes, met while working on an organic farm in Hong Kong and became best friends. They saw something most people walk past every day: although land in Hong Kong is famously expensive, the city is full of idle space — the rooftops and podiums of commercial and industrial buildings, residential blocks, and public areas sitting empty in the sun. They believed those spaces could be more than ornamental. They could grow real, fresh, organic vegetables that give back to the community. So in 2018, they left their jobs and started Grow Something to prove it. What began as home vegetable gardens has grown into something much larger: a network of urban farms across Hong Kong, a certified organic farm in Kam Tin, and education programmes reaching thousands of students, residents and employees every year.

Our Service

We build and manage urban farms, and we teach people how to grow.
Our work falls into three areas.

For schools and communities

We run hands-on organic farming courses, eco-workshops and education programmes for schools, community centres and residents, bringing food and agriculture education to the next generation and to neighbourhoods across the city.

For corporates and buildings

We build and manage urban farms for property managers, developers, malls and corporates — turning unused space into green, productive assets. For companies, our farms and workshops also make a tangible, measurable contribution to ESG and sustainability goals.

Our organic farm

In Kam Tin, Yuen Long, we run an HKORC-certified organic farm (cert no. C23002) where we grow seasonal produce without pesticides, chemical fertilisers or genetically modified seeds. Visitors can join farming and harvesting experiences, rent an allotment, or take a course.

More than a farm, a social enterprise

Grow Something is a certified social enterprise, and that shapes how we work.

We're committed to reinvesting at least 65% of our profits back into our social mission. We also create meaningful, flexible work — including part-time roles for members of the community who face barriers to employment — and run programmes that bring people together around growing food.

For our clients, this means the money you spend on a rooftop farm or a school workshop does more than green a space. It helps build a healthier, more connected, more sustainable city.
