Why growing belongs in every school and community

Growing food teaches things a textbook can't. Where does our food really come from? Why do seasons matter? What happens to what we throw away? Through food-and-agriculture education (食農教育), students and residents get their hands in the soil and discover the answers for themselves — building environmental awareness, patience, teamwork and a genuine connection to nature, right here in the city. Every programme we run is organic, hands-on, and designed around real learning outcomes, not just a fun afternoon.

For schools

Eco-workshops
(single session)
Hands-on, take-home workshops that make sustainability tangible — seed balls, upcycled planters, eco-enzyme, and worm composting. Typically 60–90 minutes, adaptable from kindergarten to secondary.

**Multi-lesson farming & science courses**
Structured courses that build real knowledge over a term — for example, a comparative science course exploring hydroponic versus soil growing, aligned with the local primary **Science curriculum**. Great for STEM and inquiry-based learning.

**Campus farm setup & management**
We design, build and maintain a farm or garden on your rooftop or campus, so growing becomes part of school life all year round. We can also integrate smart-farming technology to bridge growing with STEM.

**Farm field trips**
Bring your students to our HKORC-certified organic farm in Kam Tin for a farming and harvesting experience they'll remember.

**Community eco-workshops** Composting, eco-enzyme, seed balls and upcycled planters — practical green-living skills that bring residents together and reduce household waste.

Our programmes aren't improvised. They're built to connect with the local school curriculum, supporting STEM, General Studies and food-and-agriculture education with clear, age-appropriate learning outcomes. And because we run our own HKORC-certified organic farm, everything we teach reflects proper organic practice, drawing on Hong Kong's established knowledge base.

不知道什麼時候開始，農夫這個職業只出現在小學教科書、或是父母用來告誡子女努力讀書的口中。務農，看似無法在香港生存，Karen和Agnes依然選擇努力耕耘，將有機種植帶回我們身邊，希望香港人可以重新認識、重視農業，學會珍惜。「種植其實是一件和我們生活很近的事。」

「小時候經常聽長輩說，讀書不成就去耕田吧！直至近年不少本地人推動復耕，農夫工作變得現代化及科學化，不再是低學歷的工作。」楊愷恩（Agnes）和吳家欣（Karen）去年9月，雙雙辭去正職工作，成立Grow Something，為城市人提供上門安裝種植箱服務，實行自己菜自己種。

在香港這片彈丸之地，要推廣種植甚至發展農業，絕不容易，但仍有人願意花時間花心機花錢，將這熱愛的種子散播出去，吸引更多人了解行業生態。 Karen 和 Agnes 在 2018 年成立 Grow Something，專門上門教人種植，除了改變其他人對種植的舊有印象，更希望加強他們的信心，珍惜每天得來不易的農作物。
